COMPLIANCE OF QEDC DECISIONS REGARDING EQUIVALENCE OF BS/M.Sc (16 YEARS) FOR PST TO EST PROMOTION
Please reference to Government of the Punjab, School Education Department letter No. SO(SE-III)5-98/2025, dated 09.09.2025, on the subject cited above.
The School Education Department has conveyed the decisions of the Qualification Equivalence Determination Committee (QEDC) meeting held on 16.06.2025, wherein it has been recommended that BS/M.Sc (16 years) degrees, being Level-6 qualifications, are higher than B.Sc (14 years) Level-5 qualification and may be considered for promotion from PST to EST, subject to prescribed conditions.
It has further been clarified that where promotion is allowed on the basis of B.Sc (14 years), promotion of teachers holding higher qualifications (BS/M.Sc 16 years) is justified in the interest of quality standards.
In view of the above, you are instructed to ensure strict compliance in true letter and spirit while processing PST to EST promotion cases, In light of QEDC recommendations and relevant rules.
