The Punjab government has formally restored the law on lifelong family pension for widows of government employees. The provincial cabinet meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved lifelong pension by removing the 10-year limit, the notification of which has been issued by the Punjab Finance Department.

- Restoration of lifelong pension: The widow will now get family pension till death instead of the limited period of 10 years.
- Equal distribution (in case of more than one widow): If a deceased employee has more than one widow, then the pension will be divided equally among all the widows.
- Ban on second marriage: If the widow marries again, her pension will be stopped immediately.

پنجاب حکومت نے سرکاری ملازمین کی بیواؤں کے لیے تاحیات فیملی پنشن کا قانون باقاعدہ بحال کر دیا ہے۔ وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نواز کی زیرِ صدارت صوبائی کابینہ کے اجلاس میں 10 سال کی حد ختم کرکے تاحیات پنشن کی منظوری دی گئی، جس کا نوٹیفیکیشن محکمہ فنانس پنجاب کی جانب سے جاری کیا جا چکا ہے۔
اس حکومتی فیصلے اور جاری کردہ اعلامیے کے اہم ترین نکات درج ذیل ہیں:
📑 نئے قانون کے اہم ترین نکات
- تاحیت پنشن کی بحالی: بیوہ کو اب 10 سال کی محدود مدت کے بجائے وفات تک فیملی پنشن ملے گی۔
- مساوی تقسیم (ایک سے زائد بیواؤں کی صورت میں): اگر کسی متوفی ملازم کی ایک سے زیادہ بیوائیں ہوں گی، تو پنشن تمام بیواؤں میں برابر تقسیم کی جائے گی۔
- دوسری شادی پر پابندی: اگر بیوہ دوسری شادی کر لیتی ہے، تو اس کی پنشن فوری طور پر بند کر دی جائے گی۔
